NoCopium Trade Journal

Priskribo

NoCopium Trade Journal is a WordPress trading journal for manual logging of stocks, options, and futures — including multi-leg strategies — with realized P&L, notes, and optional process tags you apply yourself.

Built for traders who want their data on their site, not a SaaS journal they do not control.

Documentation: Dashboard · Trade Journal · Open New Trade · Settings

Pro documentation: Import (Tastytrade CSV) · Analytics

What The Free Build Includes

  • Unlimited manual trade logging (no trade cap)
  • Multi-leg option structures (up to four legs per trade)
  • Strategy/setup tagging, multiple accounts, journal search and filters
  • Admin dashboard: net P&L, win rate, equity curve, monthly gains, daily P&L calendar (year to date)
  • Optional tags: mindset at open; Followed vs Broke Plan on close
  • Dashboard glance: counts for recent tagged opens; Followed vs Broke Plan dollars and follow-rate percent for recent tagged closes (last 20 each)
  • Return on risk on the dashboard when max loss or buying power is logged
  • Trade CSV export, JSON backup/restore (empty target journal only), sample trades in Settings
  • Public shortcodes [nocopium_journal] and [nocopium_stats] (on by default; disable in Settings)
  • Light and Dark admin and public journal themes

What The Free Build Does Not Include

  • Tastytrade broker CSV import (Pro add-on from nocopium.com)
  • P&L analytics by tag across a date range (full plan and mindset tables, win rate by tag)
  • Full Analytics page (profit factor, strategy/underlying tables, drawdown, streaks, IVR/VIX buckets)
  • Dashboard Range menu beyond year-to-date (Pro adds month, quarter, rolling windows, all time)
  • Licensing or Freemius (Pro only, sold from nocopium.com)

Upgrade To Pro

NoCopium Trade Journal Pro adds Tastytrade broker CSV import (Transactions export; Order # grouping and open/close matching), a generic CSV fallback, and the Analytics workspace — including P&L by Followed vs Broke Plan and by mindset over the range you choose.

Additional broker-specific importers may be added later if there is enough interest. Keep this free plugin installed — Pro adds features; your trades stay in the same database.

Process Tags (Free To Log, Pro To Analyze Deeply)

  • Mindset at open — optional when you open a trade (Notes step). Free dashboard shows how often each mindset appeared on recent tagged opens.
  • Followed vs Broke Plan — optional when you close a trade. Free dashboard shows dollar P&L for Followed vs Broke on recent tagged closes, plus a follow-rate percent.
  • Tags are empty until you set them; Tastytrade import does not fill them.
  • Pro Analytics turns those tags into full-range P&L, win rate, and bar charts — not just the last-20 glance on the dashboard.

Dedicated Trade Journal

  • Stores each trade in your WordPress database
  • Tracks symbol, asset class, account, direction, entry/exit, fees, P&L, strategy/setup, order reference, and notes
  • Optional market context: IVR, VIX, underlying price, buying power, max loss, POP, net delta
  • Needs Review status for incomplete rows (excluded from statistics until fixed)

Dashboard and Charts

  • Year-to-date KPIs, cumulative equity curve, and monthly gains bars
  • Daily P&L calendar with closed trades listed for each day
  • Account filter when you use more than one account
  • Recent trade activity; plan and mindset tags visible on rows when set

Backup, Export, and Shortcodes

  • JSON backup/restore from Settings (destination journal must be empty)
  • Trade Journal CSV export (spreadsheet; not the same as backup or Tastytrade import)
  • [nocopium_journal] and [nocopium_stats] on the frontend

Upgrade To Pro

Pro is sold from nocopium.com, not WordPress.org. Install NoCopium Trade Journal Pro (Add-on) alongside this plugin. Do not uninstall Free.

Pro adds:

  • Tastytrade broker CSV import with preview, duplicate protection, and import summary
  • Generic CSV fallback; additional broker importers may follow based on demand
  • Analytics: P&L by strategy, underlying, Followed vs Broke Plan, and mindset at open across your chosen date range
  • Profit factor, drawdown, streaks, closed P&L mix, IVR/VIX and asset-class breakdowns
  • Dashboard Range menu and profit factor card

Purchase and activate Pro at nocopium.com.

What does NoCopium Trade Journal do?

It is a WordPress admin journal for logging and reviewing trades by hand: options, futures, stocks, and multi-leg structures, with P&L, charts, and optional process tags.

Does it import broker CSVs?

Not in the free WordPress.org build. Pro imports Tastytrade broker CSV exports (Transactions tab on the web, History on desktop). A generic CSV fallback is included for spreadsheet data. Dedicated importers for other brokers may be added based on demand. Manual logging is unlimited in Free.

Does it run inside Tastytrade or another broker platform?

No. It is a WordPress plugin. Pro reads a Tastytrade CSV file you export; there is no live broker connection.

Can I tag mindset and plan adherence?

Yes, in Free. Tag mindset at open when you log or edit a trade. Tag Followed vs Broke Plan when you close. The free dashboard summarizes recent tagged trades (counts for mindset; dollars and percent for plan). Pro Analytics adds full date-range P&L and win rate by those tags.

Does the free dashboard show plan and mindset P&L like Analytics?

Partially. Free shows a short glance on the dashboard (last 20 tagged opens/closes). Dollar P&L by plan or mindset over MTD, YTD, or custom ranges is Pro only on the Analytics page.

Where is my data stored?

In your WordPress database on your server. You own the site and the data.

Do I need a license to use Free?

No. The WordPress.org plugin is free. NoCopium Trade Journal Pro is purchased and licensed at nocopium.com. After purchase, activate Pro with the license key from Freemius (not from the Free plugin Settings page).

Can I attach screenshots to trades?

Yes. Store a screenshot URL or upload via the trade form notes area (WordPress Media Library).

How do I move my journal to another WordPress site?

Use Settings Backup / restore: download JSON, install NoCopium on the new site with an empty journal, then restore. Use Trade Journal Export for spreadsheets. Media Library screenshot files are not copied in JSON backup.

Why upgrade to Pro?

  • Import Tastytrade order history instead of typing hundreds of fills
  • Full Analytics: strategies, underlyings, profit factor, streaks, plan/mindset P&L by range
  • Dashboard date ranges and strategy snapshot
  • Same journal database — do not uninstall Free

Ŝanĝprotokolo

1.1.19

  • Show Followed vs Broke Plan in dollars on the dashboard (last 20 tagged closes), not just a percent pill.
  • Add return-on-risk stats (max loss, then buying power) and show return on risk on the Net P&L card when risk is logged.
  • Prefer max loss over buying power when computing pnl_percent on save.
  • Fix public journal MTD/YTD filters to use close date for closed trades.
  • WordPress.org review: proper asset enqueue, input sanitization, output escaping, prefixed public script data, and Contributors header.
  • WordPress.org listing: expanded readme (Free vs Pro, demo and FAQ links, documentation links, screenshots list).

1.1.18

  • Add Light and Dark appearance for wp-admin NoCopium screens (Dark is the default) and for the public journal.
  • Pair the dashboard P&L calendar with a day list instead of a modal, and show Recent Trade Activity full width below it.
  • Keep expanded journal legs and notes readable in Dark.

1.1.17

  • Pad the Settings tools cards (backup / restore, sample data, and Danger Zone) so content is not flush to the card edges.

1.1.16

  • Add Settings backup / restore: download a JSON snapshot of selected accounts and restore it onto a site with zero trades. Spreadsheet CSV export is unchanged. Screenshot files in the Media Library are not copied.

1.1.15

  • Open New Trade is a short wizard (including an optional close step for trades you log after they already closed). The pencil still opens the full editor.

1.1.14

  • Scope the free dashboard KPI cards to the current calendar year, matching the equity curve and monthly gains. Open positions stay current inventory. Advanced can later change this window through nocopium_dashboard_chart_range.

1.1.13

  • Limit the free dashboard equity curve and monthly gains chart to the current calendar year. KPI cards stay all-time. Advanced can later change this window through nocopium_dashboard_chart_range.

1.1.12

  • Add a monthly gains bar chart next to the equity curve. Closed-trade P&L is grouped by close month for the latest year, with empty months left blank. Gains use the dashboard green and losses use the dashboard red.

1.1.11

  • Draw the equity curve from $0 so a single closed trade is a line instead of a lone dot. Open trades still do not belong on this chart because they have no realized P&L yet.

1.1.10

  • Filter the dashboard by account. The KPIs, equity curve, recent trades, and the Advanced strategy snapshot all follow the same choice. The dropdown appears once you have two or more accounts, and defaults to all accounts combined.

1.1.9

  • Reorganize Settings into Accounts, Trade Entry, Display, Public Journal, and a Danger Zone, and put shortcodes next to the public-journal switch that controls them.
  • Pre-fill Asset Class on a new trade from the default chosen in Settings. Picking a display currency fills the symbol.

1.1.8

  • Use nocopium for the trades table, settings, stats cache, REST routes, admin page addresses, and shortcodes ([nocopium_journal], [nocopium_stats]).

1.1.7

  • Let the strategy list be edited for real. A strategy you removed in Settings was silently added back on the next page load, so the list could only ever grow. Removals now stick, and clearing the field restores the original list.

1.1.6

  • Show underlying and other dollar prices with two decimal places when editing a trade. Existing extra cents are rounded on save.

1.1.5

  • Accept net position delta to two decimal places, so values like -0.05 are no longer rejected.
  • Restrict dollar fields to two decimal places, including buying power which previously only accepted whole dollars.

1.1.4

  • Add a Needs Review status for trades that are missing one side of the position. They are excluded from every statistic, fees included.
  • Use the stored multiplier when recalculating P&L on save, so editing an imported trade no longer understates it.
  • Label leg quantity as a ratio so it is not mistaken for a contract count and double counted against size.
  • Record probability of profit, max profit, and max loss from the broker order screen. Leave max loss blank for undefined risk.
  • Track how many closed trades carry each optional field so future reports can show their own coverage.
  • Add net delta, POP, max profit, and max loss to the CSV export.
  • Sequence the equity curve by the date each trade was closed.
  • Correct return on capital to measure P&L against total buying power committed.
  • Track fees on closed trades separately from fees on all trades.
  • Remove IV percentile entirely, dropping its unused column on upgrade. IVR covers the same ground.

1.1.3

  • Option legs tab is second. Expiration date and DTE live on that tab.

1.1.2

  • Add opened and closed timestamps, four manual option legs on the core trade form, and drop the multiplier field.

1.1.1

  • First-run account setup and dashboard polish.

1.0.0

  • Initial release.
